1 Chronicles 20:4-8 King James Version (KJV)
4 And it came to pass after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines; at which time Sibbechai the Hushathite slew Sippai, that was of the children of the giant: and they were subdued.
5 And there was war again with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, whose spear staff was like a weaver's beam.
6 And yet again there was war at Gath, where was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were four and twenty, six on each hand, and six on each foot and he also was the son of the giant.
7 But when he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother slew him.
8 These were born unto the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.

The Philistine Giants
4 After this, a war broke out with the Philistines at Gezer. At that time Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, a descendant of the giants, and the Philistines were subdued.
5 Once again there was a battle with the Philistines, and Elhanan son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite. The shaft of his spear was like a weaver’s beam.
6 There was still another battle at Gath where there was a man of extraordinary stature with six fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot—24 in all. He, too, was descended from the giant. 7 When he taunted Israel, Jonathan son of David’s brother Shimei killed him.
8 These were the descendants of the giant in Gath killed by David and his soldiers.

4 This was probably after the winter ended the war continued. Rephaites were a race of giants.
5 So they kill another giant in war this has been at least three that we know of they were killed in battle by the Israelites. A weaver’s beam was commonly 2 inches across which was large for a spear head but it would have been larger than normal due to his massive size.
6 A miss number of fingers and toes is often times a sign of inbreeding which may point to that the Philistines were breeding this race of giants, giantism is a disease as were know today but it is not common enough to determine whether is carried thru families and handed down but this could be one reason for the race of giants.
7 David’s nephew killed this giant for mocking Israel; David killed Goliath for mocking God and Israel.
8 So the war ends this race of giants because they most likely were going to attack David and Israel because they were so large they were a threat to Israel.
