Matthew 26:47-50 King James Version (KJV)
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and took him.

The Judas Kiss
47 While He was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, suddenly arrived. A large mob, with swords and clubs, was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 His betrayer had given them a sign: “The One I kiss, He’s the One; arrest Him!”49 So he went right up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.
50 “Friend,” Jesus asked him, “why have you come?”
Then they came up, took hold of Jesus, and arrested Him.

47 It was already told by Him that He would be betrayed by Judas and that time has now come. The Pharisees and other religious rulers think they can finally put an end to this movement but the Pharisees are no longer around today but Jesus’ name is still praised.
48 This is scripture that is being fulfilled, Jesus plainly told them it would be Judas but it had to fulfill scripture.
49 Judas betrayed Him with the kiss, Judas was not accepting Him as master.
50 Jesus called him friend Jesus even those that hate Him and betray Him. We as Christians are even to show love to those who hate us just as He did.
