Matthew 26:59-61 King James Version (KJV)
59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus, to put him to death;
60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,
61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.
Matthew 26:59-61 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
59 The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false testimony against Jesus so they could put Him to death.60 But they could not find any, even though many false witnesses came forward. Finally, two who came forward 61 stated, “This man said, ‘I can demolish God’s sanctuary and rebuild it in three days.’”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
59 False witnesses was against the law it breaks one the Ten Commandments, it their whole justice is based off that witnesses were truthful but they want to find Jesus guilty and condemn Him.
60 They could find Him guilty even after people lie against Him. Two people could not agree with their lies.
61 Jesus never said that the temple would be destroyed by Him, He was referring to them killing Him and Him rising from the grave.
