Nehemiah 3:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.

Valley Gate, Dung Gate, and Fountain Gate
13 Hanun and the inhabitants of Zanoah repaired the Valley Gate. They rebuilt it and installed its doors, bolts, and bars, and repaired 500 yards of the wall to the Dung Gate.

12 He most likely worked with his daughters because he did not have sons. This is a leader getting into the work this would encourage others to get involved because it showed them the importance of the work.
13 They from other places in Israel to build up the wall which meant this work was important. So they work on the two gates this would have taken time Zanoah would not be home for a long time and would make the most of their time in building the wall. We are to make most of our time in serving the Lord.
