Matthew 28:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.

11 While the women •went to tell Jesus’ followers [were on their way], some of the soldiers who had been guarding the tomb went into the city to tell the •leading [T chief] priests everything that had happened. 12 Then the priests met with the elders and made a plan. They paid the soldiers a •large amount of money [substantial bribe] 13 and said to them, “Tell the people that Jesus’ •followers [disciples] came during the night and stole •the body [him away]while you were asleep.

11 So the soldiers came and told the story. They also had the truth of what had happened because they did their job, they saw. Sometimes we can see God do amazing things if we just do our job.
12 They had to bribe the soldiers; the problem would be that Jesus would soon be back. These priests rather then changing their hearts would rather cover up the truth. Sometimes this world is this blind,
13 This was the lie and wouldn’t work after Jesus came back, this also was a way for them to possible have the disciples killed for accusing them of breaking the seal on the tomb but them lying also hurt the soldiers because they were suppose to have prevented this from happening.
