Matthew 28:18-20 King James Version (KJV)
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:18-20 Expanded Bible (EXB)
18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All •power [authority] in heaven and on earth •is [has been] given to me. 19 So go and make •followers [disciples] of all •people in the world [the nations]. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach them to obey everything that I have •taught [commanded] you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of •this age [the world; time].

18 Jesus has all power because He is the Lord. His purpose is to return and finish because the rest He finished at the cross. We can’t ever fully understand the power of Jesus but it is all powerful.
19 This is the great commission. Teach, we are to teach them to gospel and the bible as a whole, instructing them on whom Jesus is and how He wants to help them live and in the way they should now be living. Baptizing is to show that they have come to faith the outward statement.
20 We are first to teach Jesus and then His commands. We should not expect the world to live by Jesus’s commands because if they could they would not need the Holy Spirit to live but we need the Helper. We as believers have this promise fulfilled by the Holy Spirit’s presence.
