Mark 1:7-8 King James Version (KJV)
7 And preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose.
8 I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.

7 This is what John preached to the people: “There is one coming after me who is •greater [mightier; more powerful] than I; I am not •good enough [fit; qualified] even to kneel down and untie [L the thong/strap of]his sandals [C a task of a servant or slave]. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.”

7 We aren’t worthy to do the Lord’s work but because He loves us He has plans to use us because of this love. We aren’t worthy but are so blessed for Him to have given us purpose. While John wasn’t worthy it didn’t stop him from later baptizing Jesus as He wanted him to do.
8 John just baptized with water and while water baptism is important it is not anything more then a bath without the Spirit being in us. John was called to give the Spirit Jesus was to come to die and make way for us to come to Faith and received His Spirit.
