Matthew 24:1-2King James Version (KJV) 24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
Matthew 24:1-2Common English Bible (CEB) The temple’s fate 24 Now Jesus left the temple and was going away. His disciples came to point out to him the temple buildings. 2 He responded, “Do you see all these things? I assure that no stone will be left on another. Everything will be demolished.” Common English Bible (CEB) Copyright © 2011 by Common English Bible
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
1 The temple was a very important part of the faith at the time but the temple came most recent in the form of Jesus and was with them, the temple was the place that housed God and now Jesus housed God because God’s Spirit became flesh which is Jesus. They took pride in the temple, if only they had seen the temple God had Solomon build which was built by God’s standards and not man’s.
2 The temple would be destroyed by Rome and has not been built back sense. We have Jesus and can go to Him any where, we no longer need a temple we now have the Holy Spirit. Today the temple still does not stand; all that is left is a wall which may not even be from the temple itself.
