Matthew 24:9-10King James Version (KJV) 9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Matthew 24:9-10Common English Bible (CEB)
9 They will arrest you, abuse you, and they will kill you. All nations will hate you on account of my name. 10 At that time many will fall away. They will betray each other and hate each other.

9 This is referring to the end times which could be started when the church age begun. Paul was arrested and 11 of the twelve would be arrested and have a death sentence given, the one Judas hanged himself before the Spirit was poured out, it was God’s will. They did not hate them because of them but hated them because of Christ. Christ was perfect and they still hated Him, we are not perfect they will hate us in our imperfection for following the perfect one, Jesus.
10 When hard times come only those who have Christ to lift them up can stand. There are many today who only play the part of a Christian in their life and as soon as trouble comes they are gone, they are not able to stand for the faith.
