1 Chronicles 16:12-17King James Version (KJV)
12 Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;
13 O ye seed of Israel his servant, ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 He is the LORD our God; his judgments are in all the earth.
15 Be ye mindful always of his covenant; the word which he commanded to a thousand generations;
16 Even of the covenant which he made with Abraham, and of his oath unto Isaac;
17 And hath confirmed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant,
1 Chronicles 16:12-17Common English Bible (CEB)
12 Remember the wondrous works he has done,
all his marvelous works,
and the justice he declared—
13 you who are the offspring of Israel, his servant,
and the children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
14 The LORD—he is our God.
His justice is everywhere throughout the whole world.
15 God remembers his covenant forever,
the word he commanded to a thousand generations,
16 which he made with Abraham,
the solemn pledge he swore to Isaac.
17 God set it up as binding law for Jacob,
as an eternal covenant for Israel,

12-13 This is referring to the children of Israel, they were to live for the service of God as we Christians are to do as well. God chose Israel to be His people long before Jacob or Israel chose that they would serve Him. He is Lord whether we chose to accept it or not. God used to people to do many wonders and brought judgment on places such as Egypt; God would later send judgment on Israel for them following the gods of this world.
14 God alone has power and alone is the One who hears. No gods have any power but God does, all gods commands die with those that serve them but God’s Word is forever.
15 God’s covenant does not end and shows mercy and grace on us for having us be apart of it. God’s covenant is sealed in the blood of Jesus.
16 Abraham’s covenant was by God and said that the world would be blessed by him which referred to Christ coming to save the world. Isaac was selected to carry to blessing not Ishmael or any one else.
17 Jacob would be later known as Israel. Christ came thru Israel to fulfill this covenant and bring it to the entire world.
