1 Chronicles 16:18-25King James Version (KJV)
18 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance;
19 When ye were but few, even a few, and strangers in it.
20 And when they went from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people;
21 He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,
22 Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.
23 Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.
24 Declare his glory among the heathen; his marvellous works among all nations.
25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.
1 Chronicles 16:18-25 Common English Bible (CEB)
18 promising, “I hereby give you the land of Canaan
as your allotted inheritance.”
19 When they were few in number—
insignificant, just immigrants—
20 wandering from nation to nation,
from one kingdom to the next,
21 God didn’t let anyone oppress them.
God punished kings for their sake:
22 “Don’t touch my anointed ones;
don’t harm my prophets!”
23 Sing to the LORD, all the earth!
Share the news of his saving work every single day!
24 Declare God’s glory among the nations;
declare his wondrous works among all people
25 because the LORD is great and so worthy of praise.
He is awesome beyond all other gods

18 This is what He promised the Israelites but they had to trust in Him which prevented them from gaining it for a time.
19 When they left Canaan for Egypt in Genesis there were 70 of them when they would return there would be more then 100 times that number.
20 This may be describing their time in the wilderness or most likely the time until they took the land of promise.
21 People had a fear of Israel because of what God did to places such as Egypt and Jericho and others.
22 God’s promises included the cursing of those that curse Israel and blessing those who bless them. Israel was the select, today the church is Christ’s select.
23 The good news that has saved us and the news that we today are to give Him praise over is Christ dying for our sins and redeeming us. Jesus means the Lord’s salvation.
24-25 God alone deserves praise; He is the only one whose praise will never end.
