1 Chronicles 17:7-10 King James Version (KJV)
7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:
8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,
10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.
1 Chronicles 17:7-10 Common English Bible (CEB)
7 So then, say this to my servant David: This is what the LORD of heavenly forces says: I myself took you from the pasture, from following the flock, to be leader over my people Israel. 8 I’ve been with you wherever you’ve gone. I’ve eliminated all your enemies before you. Now I will make your name great—like the name of the greatest people on earth. 9 I’m going to provide a place for my people Israel, and plant them so that they may live there and no longer be disturbed. Cruel people will no longer trouble them as they did earlier, 10 when I appointed judges over my people Israel. I’ll subdue all your enemies and make you great. As for a dynasty, the LORD will build one for you!

7 This is God telling Nathan what to tell David in response to him wanting to build the temple. God reminds him who He is and what He has done for him, sometimes we also need Him to remind us, not to dwell on our past but to focus on Him bringing us from there.
8 God is always with us His followers, He is in control of what happens to us, He will bring out the goodness of His will if we follow Him, this does not mean things will always be easy David was most likely hurt prior to the Lord giving him his enemies, also David’s fame was not easy for him to gain he had people trying to stop him but no one can stop the Lord’s will.
9 Israel would be in that land for many years until the exile but from then on it was known as their land. They would only lose it because they gave up the Lord.
10 David line would continue and ends with Christ whose reign will never end.
