1 Chronicles 17:21-22 King James Version (KJV)
21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.

21 Who is like your people Israel, a unique nation on the earth, that God redeemed as his own people, establishing a name for yourself by doing great and awesome things, by driving out nations before your people whom you saved from Egypt? 22 You established your people Israel as your own people forever, and you, LORD, became their God.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.
21 The Israelites were the special people, they were chosen by God, and no other nation can claim that they were lead by God; they would change this by having a king. Israel is the only nation that God claims as His, the church is claimed by God but is not a nation. God made is possible for Israel to be, they were a long shot but God was the one doing the shooting and He hit the bull’s eye.
22 God had Israel but Israel would turn from God and break His laws and their covenant with Him.
